Islam And Christianity Essays - Religion, Prophets Of Islam
Islam And Christianity Essays - Religion, Prophets Of Islam Islam And Christianity Despite the fact that Islam is less known than Christianity, it is the quickest developing religion in the in our nation today. Islam is really inferred structure Christianity. History books demonstrate that one night in the year 610, the first of numerous disclosures came to Muhammad from God by method of the holy messenger Gabriel. The message Muhammad got revealed to him that there was nevertheless one God, very few divine beings, as most Arabs accepted. This God was maker of the world, and He would one-day judge humankind. The word Islam implies give up or accommodation, accommodation to the desire of Allah, the one God. Muslims are the individuals who have submitted themselves. The essential statement of faith of Islam is brief: There is no God yet Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah. Islam instructs that there is one God, the maker and sustainer of the universe. This God, Allah, is sympathetic and just. Since He is empathetic, He calls all individuals to have confidence in Him and love Him. Since He is likewise just, on the Last Day He will pass judgment on each individual as per his deeds. On the Last Day, all the dead will be revived and either remunerated with paradise or rebuffed with damnation. The life of every Muslim is consistently inside the network of the dedicated, all are pronounced to be siblings to one another, with he strategic order great and restrict insidious. Inside the network, Muslims are relied upon to set up social and monetary equity. They are additionally expected to do their message to the remainder of the world. In the early Islamic people group, this implied the utilization of power as jihad, or sacred war. The object of jihad was to deal with social orders and run them as per the standards of Islam. During the decades following the passing of Muhammad certain basic standards were singled out from his lessons to fill in as tying down focuses for the Islamic people group. These have come to be known as the five mainstays of Islam. After the unexpected demise of Mohammed in 632, Caliph Abu Bakr requested one of the prophets allies to gather, from oral and composed sources, all of Mohammeds expressions. They were written in the Quran which is essentially the Muslim Bible. The Quran is the composed form of the lessons that Mohammed lectured while he was alive. A second wellspring of direction for most Muslims is al-Hadith (Tradition), a tremendous collection of transmitted accounts of what the Prophet said or did or information disclosed or done in his quality and subsequently affirmed by him It was Muhammad's dispute that Christianity had withdrawn from faith in God's message as uncovered in their Scriptures. God had sent numerous prophets, among them Abraham, who is viewed as the originator of the confidence for Islam, as he is additionally for and Christianity. The Koran, utilizing sources in the more established Scriptures and later customs, relates the narratives of Abraham, Joseph, Moses and Aaron, David, Solomon, Jesus. After Muhammad's passing in AD 632, it was expected that the substance of the disclosures may be lost, as the individuals who had initially remembered it kicked the bucket. It was along these lines chosen to gather all the disclosures, from what ever source, and make an assemblage. Christianity and Islam are two of the most huge religions since their creation. Islam implies accommodation in Arabic, and a Muslim is one who submits to the desire of God. Christians were called so as a result of Jesus title Christos, which is Greek for Messiah. The two religions are fundamentally the same as with just a portion of the convictions and lessons being extraordinary. They likewise give separate messages to untouchables with respect to what their religions depend on. The two religions are monotheistic with a blessed book and the two of them endeavor to vanquish insidious. Islam has a lot of rules (5 Pillars of Islam) set out to arrive at illumination while Christians fundamentally simply sin, atone, and afterward are pardoned for their transgressions. Christianity is an a lot simpler religion to have a place with in light of the fact that it is much increasingly indulgent to what you should or shouldn't do just as when and where you can do it. Islam is likewise increasingly shut entryways in light of the fact that the don't generally convey preachers looking

E=SAT Squared
Did Einstein have to take the SAT? No! Then whyshould I? Well, everything is relative, and if he were alive today he would berequired to take it, too.The SAT and its sister test, the ACT, arestandardized tests that give colleges a common ground to compare you with otherapplicants (but not with Einstein!). These tests are supposed to cut through thedifferences between schools and their various grading scales and measure theability of students to think and, some say, predict a student's success incollege.SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test. The test measures mathand verbal aptitude. A perfect score is 1600, which combines 800 scores in bothsections.ACT stands for American College Test. Students receive scores inEnglish, reading, math, and science reasoning, as well as a composite score. Thehighest composite score is 36.Extremely competitive colleges (i.e. IvyLeague schools), look for minimum SAT scores of 1350, and ACT scores of 30 ormore. Highly competitive schools, like Carnegie Mellon University, look forminimum SAT scores of 1100 and ACT scores over 25, while most state universitieslook for minimum SAT's of 1000, and ACT's starting at 20.Samples of theSAT and ACT can be found at your library or bookstore. The sample tests willallow you to see which is best for you. In the verbal area, the SAT is designedto test vocabulary. If you have a strong vocabulary, but are weak on languageusage, it would be to your advantage to take the SAT.According to thePrinceton Review, the math sections of the SAT are trick-oriented, with a heavieremphasis on arithmetic and virtually no coordinate geometry or trigonometryquestions. If you are good at arithmetic and basic geometry, the SAT might giveyou a higher score.The ACT is divided into four sections: English, math,reading and science reasoning. Its advantage is that (unlike the SAT) there is nopenalty for guessing. In addition, you can send colleges only the scores that youselect. In contrast, the SAT reports every test y ou have ever taken. MicheleHernandez in A is For Admission advises that you take the SAT no more than threetimes. The ACT, however, allows you to cloak your scores and take multiple testswithout fear because you can submit only your highest score. The disadvantage isthat prep courses for the ACT may be hard to come by for some since the test ismost popular west of the Mississippi River. Most colleges accept either the SATor ACT.The recommended time to begin taking these tests is junior year.Most students take the SAT because prep courses are available at communitycolleges, high schools, Princeton Review, Kaplan and libraries. The prices forthese courses vary widely, and some include prep books. The SAT and theACT are given monthly during the school year. This enables you to apply for earlyadmission senior year. One college admissions counselor suggests takingthe SAT in December because students say that that is the easier test. Some SATveterans say that the March test is the wor st; no two tests are the same. ThePrinceton Review encourages students to take the test on dates that offer, for anadditional fee, a photocopy of your actual test and answer sheet, which allowsstudents to learn from their mistakes.It's not the end of the world ifyou do badly on an SAT or ACT test. Colleges also look at your grade pointaverage, outside activities, application essays, class rank, athletic endeavors,personal circumstances, and teachers' recommendations. The SAT and ACTjust help colleges see a piece of the puzzle that is you. But don't overlookpreparation, either in a course or on your own. Albert Einstein lived by theadvice offered by Louis Pasteur, "Chance favors the prepared mind."

Theodore Roethkeââ¬â¢s My Papaââ¬â¢s Waltz and Robert Haydenââ¬â¢s...
Abuse is a difficult and sensitive subject that can have long lasting effects. These traumatic emotional effects are often intensified if the abuse happens at a young age because children do not understand why the abuse is happening or how to deal with it. There are many abuse programs set up to counter the severe effects which abuse can have. Even more, poets and writers all over the world contribute works that express the saddening events and force the public to realize it is much more real than the informative articles we read about. One such poem is Theodore Roethkeââ¬â¢s My Papaââ¬â¢s Waltz which looks carefully through the eyes of a young boy into the household of an abusive father. Robert Haydenââ¬â¢s Those Winter Sundays is a similar poem fromâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦As the poem progresses, the boyââ¬â¢s tone becomes more playful which reinforces the serious statement about how much he cares for his father. The ââ¬Ëwaltzââ¬â¢ becomes less serious when he says, ââ¬Å"We romped until the pans Slid from the kitchen shelfâ⬠(Roethke, 5). Using a word like romped is a deliberate attempt to make a serious event lighthearted and fun. The only reason a child would make this ââ¬Ëwaltzââ¬â¢ playful is because he wants to protect his father, whom he loves. As the last stanza explains, ââ¬Å"You beat time on my headâ⬠¦Then waltzed me off to bed Still clinging to your shirt.â⬠(Roethke, 13-16) Again, the abuse is compared to a waltz which makes it seem lighthearted. The boy is taking a serious affair and making it into a fun event. He uses this good-natured tone because he loves his father and wants to justify this serious affair. Similarly, Haydenââ¬â¢s Those Winter Sundays starts with a young adult reflecting back on his childhood and remembering how hard his father worked. He thinks back and his tone is of admiration and respect. This is apparent when the young man reflects, ââ¬Å"Sundays too my father got up earlyâ⬠¦No one ever thanked him.â⬠(Hayden, 1-5) The young man is realizing how hard his father worked and how little recognition he got. This makes a certain degree of guilt come over the young man. He remembers ââ¬Å"fearing the chronic angers of that houseâ⬠(Hayden, 9) and dislikes his father because of it by ââ¬Å"speaking indifferently to himâ⬠(Hayden, 10). With the industry constantly changing and with several ways of accessing processed data, safeguarding patient information is top priority.
